Liquid Fuel With Wick
This fuel is made from pure diethylene glycol (DEG).
Burns without soot or odors.
Using a wick the DEG can be vaporized and burned despite its relatively high flame point of 143°C.
The burning time of a can is inversely proportional to the intensity of its flame, which can be adjusted by varying the exposed height of the wick.
Usage: Place directly under a chafing dish or other heating appliance suitable for use with open flames of liquid fuel.
Burn time: ±6.
Thermal power: about 50% of ethanol fuel gel.
Advantages compared to fuel gel:
- Safer to use. No dangerous filling. The flame is more visible and predictable.
- Cans stay cool enough to touch safely. Can be used without stand.
- Safer in case of accidents. Each spill will be minimal and hardly flammable.
- Properly resealable and reusable.
- Easy to extinguish by blowing or placing the cap.
- Less intense flame. Reduces the chance of chafing dish water tanks remaining dry.
ATTENTION:
Diethylene glycol is a dangerous irritant. Always wash your hands after skin contact with the liquid: preferably wear latex gloves to adjust the height of the wick.
